We loved them all, especially this Canadian series. :)

You know what's dangerous for me? A very much desired trip to Prince Edward Island, Anne of Green Gables country! Even more dangerous for my Beloved who will have to visit with me. :) Dorothyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13622521834128746217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-515660504291275491.post-29900321301699886152013-11-27T16:48:52.333+11:002013-11-27T16:48:52.333+11:00Hi Paula, I have to say that book is still special...Hi Paula, I have to say that book is still special to me. Janette Oke was the first Christian fiction author I'd ever heard of, and I remember thinking, "What a fantastically good idea."Paula Vincehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02079952414990463270noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-515660504291275491.post-17232134375987954642013-11-27T13:29:13.224+11:002013-11-27T13:29:13.224+11:00Thanks Narelle, Thanks Narelle, Ausjennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07644698706787568679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-515660504291275491.post-9154006945397812202013-11-27T11:57:55.414+11:002013-11-27T11:57:55.414+11:00Jenny, lovely post :) Thanks for sharing with us h...Jenny, lovely post :) Thanks for sharing with us how Christian fiction books have touched your life. I love travelling to exotic location and different worlds through fiction. And I agree with Andrea, fiction can be a major distraction and leave us bleary-eyed the next morning when we couldn't put the book down and had to read to the end :)Narellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07665380446283721576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-515660504291275491.post-83189971515770627392013-11-27T11:30:46.292+11:002013-11-27T11:30:46.292+11:00Thanks Dale they are such a help and they haven...Thanks Dale they are such a help and they haven't given me any false expectations of romance (Hey im still single).Ausjennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07644698706787568679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-515660504291275491.post-21845407241081331742013-11-27T11:24:42.062+11:002013-11-27T11:24:42.062+11:00Lovely to hear how books have helped you in your j...Lovely to hear how books have helped you in your journey Jenny.Dalehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14217918666756258037noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-515660504291275491.post-55586182102986450972013-11-27T11:24:29.341+11:002013-11-27T11:24:29.341+11:00I have actually read a book and gone no way that h...I have actually read a book and gone no way that happened then and had to check and sure enough it did.
With my new condition I struggle to read for long or do anything for long and just want to be able to use reading as a distraction from the pain.Ausjennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07644698706787568679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-515660504291275491.post-43294753177339685172013-11-27T11:23:10.016+11:002013-11-27T11:23:10.016+11:00Thanks Catherine, I have heard a lot about this se...Thanks Catherine, I have heard a lot about this series but haven't read it yet. I will always be thankful to this lady who gave me that book and brought me back to reading. She is another dear lady around mum's age who I lost in the past 4 or so years and at the moment I am missing them all dearly but I have memories and this is a special memory.Ausjennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07644698706787568679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-515660504291275491.post-12937355022676450722013-11-27T10:09:24.848+11:002013-11-27T10:09:24.848+11:00Books are dangerous? I'm very grateful that Google came along - research is so much easier. The number one reason why books are dangerous for me? Because they are a major distraction. I can lose myself in them for hours on end. What a wonderful problem :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04449342827457837314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-515660504291275491.post-618560855605503112013-11-27T09:42:45.039+11:002013-11-27T09:42:45.039+11:00Thanks Jenny, I agree books often leave a lasting ...Thanks Jenny, I agree books often leave a lasting impression and change in us. I was forever changed by Francine Rivers Mark of The Lion trilogy. It sparked my passion for history and fascinated me - that people continue to make the same mistakes centuries later.Catherine Hudsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03947906623825971761noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-515660504291275491.post-80005096593024453482013-11-27T09:35:08.903+11:002013-11-27T09:35:08.903+11:00Jenny, I agree wholeheartedly. It's one of the special wonders of great fiction, it transports us to another place.

Earlier in the year I read Tosca Lee's Iscariot which was written from Judas' perspective. Tosca took us into his mind as he journeyed with Jesus and his fellow disciples. It was fascinating to ask ourselves the question what would we have done?

I'm currently reading Matthew Reilly's The Tournament. It's set in the 1500s which was such an incredible time in history with Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, Luther and the Reformation and the power of the Sultan in Constantinople. I've been transported back to that era and it's been a revelation for me.

Good joyful post, Jenny. Thanks for sharing your passion with us.Ian Ahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00192687613923596829noreply@blogger.com
