I love food but I have to say family meal gatherings tend to be a bit hellish for me, in that everyone brings so much (including those wretched 'nibbles' which are in full view before, during and after the main feast!). Would love to know how to turn such occasions from gorge-fests to God-feasts, especially when the family is a mixed bag of Christians and Not-yets. With that in mind, your review encourages me to check out Simon's book. John and I were at the book launch in October when Simon shared some of the inspiration for Eating Heaven he's encountered as one of the pastors of Collins Street Baptist Church.

In his introduction to the launch, Paul Arnott of Acorn Press said, 'All tables are spiritually charged.' That resonated with me as I contemplated the meals I've shared and how much or little we've noticed God in our midst.

I'm really looking forward to reading this one. :)

Thanks for the review, Annie.

Dorothyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13622521834128746217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-515660504291275491.post-3669619267396155592013-11-28T09:02:50.088+11:002013-11-28T09:02:50.088+11:00Sounds like a really interesting book, Anne.
