The following books are new or recent releases by Australasian authors. Each month we will post information on new releases by authors and publishers in our part of the world.

The Inheritance by Jo-Anne Berthelsen (Even Before Publishing, September 2013)

Michael Trevelyan is determined to claim his inheritance at all costs. Bitterness consumes him and he refuses to forgive those who have betrayed him. Yet, when he meets Alexandra Hope, things begin to change. She challenges his views but also listens while he shares his pain. Can Michael move on from the past and learn to forgive? Can Alexandra hold onto her faith in God as she deals with their deepening relationship? Can they both learn to trust each other—and God?

God's Panoply by Anne Hamilton (Even Before Publishing, August 2013)

This is a sequel to the multi-award winning "God's Poetry" by Anne Hamilton. The Hebrew word for 'to kiss' also means 'to put on armour'. This uplifting exploration into Ephesians 5–6 shines a light on the hidden Aramaic thought behind Paul's command to submit and his description of God's armour. A devotional kaleidoscope on the nature of marriage and spiritual warfare.

The Bible on the Key Issues of Life by Nick Hawes (Even Before Publishing, August 2013)

The 'Key Issues of Life' contains Bible studies on 50 of the most common questions asked about life and faith. Issues covered include: guidance; suffering; healing; getting a job; sex; the environment; and the resurrection. It is a reference book designed for personal use and as a resource for group studies.

Broken Melody by Trudy Adams (Even Before Publishing, July 2013)

Seventeen year-old Danae Blackburn has never known love. After being fostered out at two, the family that chose her gradually reduced her to brokenness and a life of fear. For a long time there is only one thing she can turn to – the piano, at which she is amazingly gifted. Torn between a dysfunctional past and a promising future, Danae struggles against everything that threatens her identity – the love of a friend, the challenge of a competition, the possibility of change. At first, the only thing that helps to weaken her defenses is the beauty in music…

  7. While I've enjoyed all Jo-Anne's books, for me The Inheritance is simply terrific and her best - so far. Don't miss this book.
Thanks for sharing these new books. Haven't read The Key Issues of Life but will be looking out for it!
I read more fiction and my husband, Ray, more non-fiction. He is still reading God's Panoply but is enjoying it very much - even used one of Anne's extra great insights in his sermon a couple of weeks ago.

I've only just started ready Trudy's Broken Melody at breakfast this morning and finding it very hard to put down and do some work! She sure can get into the hearts and heads of teenagers as her Desolate Beauty novel also showed. Both are must reads - even though they made we want to cry for some of the stuff young people too often have to face in this crazy old world.
