June New Releases

God's Pottery by Anne Hamilton (Armour Books, 1 June 2016)

GOD’S POTTERY: The Sea of Names and the Pierced Inheritance
Guilt says, ‘I made a mistake.’ Shame says, ‘I am a mistake.’ Shame affects both our identity and destiny in Christ.
So it’s no coincidence that, in Hebrew, guilt and shame are related to the very thing that defines our true identity: our own name.
Name covenants and threshold covenants are meant to usher us into the hidden place in Christ where He is our shield and inheritance. Instead shame, disappointment and fear drive us into complicity with the enemy of our souls.
When the door into our calling opens but we experience constriction and wasting, not full and abundant life, then it’s time to uncover just what has gone wrong.

Jilted by Varina Denman (David C Cook, 1 June 2016)

Jilted, book three in the Mended Hearts series, releases June 1 through David C Cook. I'd love for it to be listed in the June New Releases of the ACW blog. I've attached a cover shot, and the blurb follows below. Thanks for considering.

Lynda Turner has struggled with depression since her husband abandoned her and their young daughter fifteen years ago. Yet unexpected hope awakens when a local ex-convict shows interest. As long-hidden secrets resurface, Lynda must fight for her emotional stability and for a life in which the shadow of shame is replaced by the light of love.

Jilted tells of a woman who has lost the joy of living, of a  man determined to draw her back toward happiness, and of a town that must--once and for all--leave the past where it belongs. It is a gentle reminder that all things can work together for good.

Small & Pure a Cautionary Tale by Jo Hilder (Rhiza Press, 1 June 2016)

Small and Pure - A Cautionary Tale by Jo Hilder is a picture book for young adults and grown-ups about self, identity and our true names.

The story of Small and Pure tenderly, yet solemnly, encourages us all to seek and hold onto our most authentic truths, lest we become burdened with identities that disguise, bury and eventually cause our very essence to disappear, perhaps forever.

Small and Pure is a little girl; a symbol of our most pure, untainted self. She grows up as all of us do, adapting to the world around her, subject to the expectations and conventions of those who keep her safe and into whose care she is entrusted. But something tragic happens to Small and Pure. She comes to us now with a sobering message, one she hopes we will learn before it’s too late.

Told with such beautiful passion and evoking collages, Small and Pure is a must-have for all bookshelves.
