Book Description: Liam O'Connor wants a wife. Problem is, the type of woman he's looking for doesn't exist.

After years working as a paramedic in Sydney and living the bachelor life, Liam has had enough. He's convinced himself, and everyone else, that he's moved home to Birrangulla for a slower pace of life, but what he's really looking for is the woman of his dreams.

From the outside, emergency nurse Poppy McDonald lives a charmed life. Unfortunately, when she moved to the other side of the world to escape her family, all she did was swap one controlling environment for another. After Poppy's father dies, she returns to Australia to face her past. And her mother. But she has no intention of staying, and definitely not in Birrangulla.

When Liam and Poppy meet, there's an instant spark. Liam knows Poppy is the one even though she's carrying more than her share of baggage. But can he gain her trust and get her to look beyond her past? Or will the man Poppy left in the US return and ruin everything?

Deuteronomy by George Athas (Aquila Press, 30 September, 2016)

Book Description: Deuteronomy is a daunting book for many readers of the Bible, yet it is arguably the ‘theological backbone’ of the Old Testament. In this clear and insightful commentary, George Athas brings Deuteronomy to life for contemporary readers, and looks at how the ancient context helps us to better understand this book. He also explains the meaning of Deuteronomy for its original readers, traces the significance of the promises in Deuteronomy through Israel’s history to their ultimate fulfilment in Christ, and considers the enduring message of this extraordinary book for Christians today.

The Life and Labours of Paul (Lenten Studies) by Reg Piper (Anglican Press Australia, September 2016)

Book Description: Paul, writer of 13 of the 27 books of the New Testament, described himself as the chief of sinners and the least of the apostles. In The Life and Labours of Paul, Reg Piper enables readers to ‘accompany’ Paul on a chronological guided tour of his life and ministry, with the aim of increasing our understanding and ability to do the will of God to Jesus’ glory as Paul did, in every circumstance, despite our failings.

These daily reflections cover 40 days—helpful in the Lent period leading up to Easter, but effective any time throughout the year. Questions for group discussion or personal reflection, as well as sermon outlines, are also included.
