Tuesday Book Chat | 16 January 2018 | Iola Goulton

It's Iola here. Welcome to our ACW Tuesday Book Chat where we encourage book lovers to answer our bookish question of the week.

Which books are you hoping to read over the summer holidays? Or over the summer, if you've already gone back to work? Or over the winter, if you're on the other side of the world?

We look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please join in the conversation in a comment on this post or in a comment on the blog post shared in our Australasian Christian Writers Facebook Group. Or, if you're feeling wordy (like me), write a blog post and link to it in the comments.

Let's chat!

  2. I've just begun reading a book which was recommended. JESUS and Mohammed by Mark A Gabriel. Wow it's hard to put it down. The man has two doctorates. The first from the highest rated university of Egypt. Because he dared question strange teachings from the Koran he was pilloried and finally taken by the secret police and tortured. It's not heavy reading as he so clearly he defines & compares what Mohammed said and what Jesus said about the same subjects. Because he knows Islam inside out it's an "unputdownable" read. It helps us understand why Muslims are really subjugated under Islamic teaching.

  5. So mnay books, so little summertime. . .

I started the holidays with reading Isaac Asimov's I, Robot and The Rest of the Robots. Great sci-fi. I followed this with The Insanity of God by Nik Ripkin, a non-fiction tale of missionary efforts around the world and the survival of the persecuted church. Then came a childhood classic, The Riddle of the Trumpalar, by Judy Bernard-Waite. Finally, I am currently chewing through Lee Child's Jack Reacher thriller, Gone Tomorrow.

And I have a pile of new books, still waiting to be read!
